Constructing a solid post for these forums took me awhile to be honest. The depth of analysis required to create a valid post in these forums was a lot of work and thought. I would make an effort to reply quickly to class mates who had responded to  a my initial post. If I did not personally receive any responses, I would take time to find  a post or two that I agreed with or found interesting to try to start  a conversation or simply agree with the  individual and add more information that I had found to the post. I usually did this Saturday and Sunday to give everyone ample time to get their initial posts completed and have conversation​s started. Even when I used the forums on Sunday, they were very active with many posts and replies. If students are communicating and getting the work done, I did not see a problem with the conversations​ going late into the weekend. I aimed to complete four forum posts per week and also tried to make sure my posts were informative and well thought out with a good bit of length.  Overall, the forums were a great experience for me.	2	2	1	2	2	1	1	1	1	1	2	2	2	1	3	I felt like my participation in the course forums was adequate enough to warrant not having to complete the optional extra credit assignments. And honestly, the assignments seemed rather extensive for having such low weight on final grades and just didn't seem like they would be worth the effort required.	2	1	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	I think it is great to use internet sources for classes. I used my internet sources in this  a class far more than either textbook we were assigned. As long as the information​ is relevant to the course and has a similar outcome on what was learned, I am all for it. I also feel that most students taking online courses would have similar thoughts about internet  sources. Texts are expensive.	I think anything provided within the Google suite would be a good place to start. These applications offered by Google are often free and highly accessable to most students.  More obscure apps/tools may run into comparability issues with students using different platforms to access the course.	2 : I Would Recommend This Course	One of my only concerns with the course was how long it took the instructor to grade the forums. At the start of week 9 in the term, only the first four weeks have been graded. For an instructor who is rather strict on due dates, I feel that forums should be graded rather swiftly to help students ensure they are doing what was required of them properly.

However, I've taken other courses using solely OER material and more often than not it's a nightmare. Nothing is organized, different sources state different "facts", some of the sources do indeed just disappear, and half the time it was pretty obvious the instructor didn't bother to read the material; as in the material related poorly to the exam. 	Not that I can think of.	1 : I Would Highly Recommend This Course	Nothing comes to mind.

Once I was hit with the heavy course load of my other classes (I took 21 credits), the amount of time that the forums took was WAY too unrealistic for me to put as much effort into as I did previously. As much as I wanted to contribute more to the forums, I just didn't have the time. I did my best to get at least 5 posts in, but that was not the case every week. I do, however, like that there were multiple questions to respond to and that you split the forums up by topic. 	2	1	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	1	I was very thankful for the first extra credit opportunity because it was something I could do and I had time to do. The second opportunity, though I wanted to take advantage of, I was swamped with other classes and didn't get the chance. These last two opportunities, however, I am taking full advantage of. If people are willing to put in the work ahead of time to do the same then there might not be as much of an issue. I definitely feel like the textbooks were necessary for the course and everything online would complicate things.	No	2 : I Would Recommend This Course	I mean, I totally get that you're just trying to do your part to teach us as much as you can and help us understand the topics, however, I think the forum should only be like 5 points since you're already spending so many hours just reading/watching the material.

I feel like there was a lot of information that was being crammed into an area where you were not supposed to be uploading 'mini term papers', and making the Wednesday deadlines caused some rifts between myself and certain obligations.  	1	3	2	3	1	2	3	1	1	1	2	2	2	1	1	I wanted to do them all, in fact, I NEEDED to do them all. However, there was a lot to do this term, and the workload was immense. I feel as though I should never have taken this class. I could have done something else in place of this. I had to pick and choose what to do in this class and all of my other ones, because with seven textbooks this term and videos and a documentary series, along with the fact I have other things I need to do outside of class, I couldn't do everything. The extra credit opportunities would not hurt me if I let them pass by without actions, so those were the first to go. I have never felt so disheartened in all of my schooling career. 	1	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	2	I am disappointed you would ask a question about my opinion, then proceed to add only the negative aspects in your bulleted list. I don't mind being shown the negative side to any case, but there are some pros to the concept as well, like being able to squeeze less money out of students who don't have anything.  Just like any change, there will be issues, but do not try and sway me right off the bat like that. In this case, I feel as though this information does not matter, since I am already biased based on what I read. The sad part is I would rather have actual textbooks, but would not mind free ones.	I have used Google Docs before, and I could see it working quite well for a class of this caliber. 	4 : I Would Strongly Advise Students Not To Take This Course	I actually did enjoy this course, but I wish that there had been some way to work the amount of information needed so the class could be more enjoyable instead of being 'a grind'. I heard this from several students I was talking to, and this was around week three. I feel as though all aspects are needed to glean the entire picture about the Vietnam War. However, it was rough. Maybe there should be some questions based on the two 'textbooks', the documentary series, the web videos, and all the extra reading. It was very thought provoking, and I liked it. I just should not have taken it when I had three other courses that were relatively intensive.
