List of abbreviations

I would like my feedback to be helpful to students for their future assignments. Below are some of the shorthand abbreviations I use when scoring your papers. If you cannot read my writing, or have more questions, I would be happy to go over your paper with you in more detail. Please do not hesitate to ask for clarification, whether through Moodle messaging, over a phone call, or scheduling an office visit.

ns - not a sentence
gra - grammar problem
ro - run on sentence
sp - spelling
pt - write history in past tense
red - redundant
? - what do you mean/needs explanation
awk - awkward phrasing/poor grammar confuses meaning
pwc - poor word choice
ww - wrong word
/ - letter should be lower case
cliche - don't use this type of spoken, informal language in a scholarly paper
no hypo ? - do not ask hypothetical questions in your paper
