What did you like about the class? How could this class be improved? Add any comments about the class and/or the instructor that you feel might he helpful or useful.

How he teached it; he seemed to cover everything. No movies, more discussion.

Even though I really don't like history that much, he added some humor to the subject, which helped make it a little more interesting. This room is often cold.

Joe's enthusiasm about the material. Certain subjects could have gone into more depth and details.

History Always felt confident taking tests, I would know the answer, find it on the test but still score low. Very disturbing.

I liked the energy that Escobar has. He is very excited about teaching and history in general. I enjoyed Joe Escobar as an instructor. I would like to take a class again from his sometime.

I enjoyed this class greatly. It was interesting, fun, informative, but could have gone a little more in depth on certain areas. Maybe the teacher could stray farther from the books content toward relating past and present.

Definitely enthusiasm. Would enjoy more class participation. This class was awesome. Keep up the good work.

I found the class to be very informing and enjoyable. The teaching was not boring or dry. Try not to talk so fast and explain things so fast, sometimes its hard to understand. It feels like my learning is being rushed.

The teacher's interest. He is doing great.

His enthusiasm and the use of films in his teaching. It helped me feel closer to the time period and material to be learned. Joe Escobar was a great teacher who didn't try to shove history down my throat, but presented the material and let me make my own decisions.

This was a great class. I loved how the info was presented with video clips as well as lecture. For once in my life, I actually got interested in American History. Sometimes the instructor was too quick in changing the transparency.

That Mr. Escobar was extremely knowledgeable of the subject and had good organization and clear learning goals. Everything was just fine.

The way the material was presented. I never liked a history class, but this made sense to me. I believe this class is about as good as it can be.

I liked how the teacher explains the material. I liked how the material was presented. I think the only thing there could have been a little more of is class discussion. It's too bad it's only a 50 minute class.

I thought that the teacher was very good. The tests were completely fair and I found the computer tests helpful. There wasn't much time for students to participate. I think with so much to cover, the class should be longer so the instructor isn't trying to rush through the material.

It was interesting and the instructor did a good job teaching it. I would have liked more class involvement, asking questions, review sheets for the tests, more interaction. Wouldn't mind a little homework to generate thinking.

I liked everything about the class. I looked forward to going. A very good history teacher. Keep up the good work.

He made the lectures interesting and understandable. You could try to be more clear on your notes on the board. I really didn't think the computer lab tests were valid, I basically think that they should have been the choice of the student whether or not to take them.

Joe was enthusiastic about History and he is objective and open-minded. The class could have gone more into Taming the West.

I think it could be easier for many people if there were class exercises to go along with the readings and lectures. Escobar's notes were scrambled and confusing. Because he knew history so well, I felt that many times he spoke above my understanding.

I thought that it was a good class, even though I wasn't very interested in a history class. I enjoyed coming to class. I really liked the videos. All was good.

In all honesty, in two years I have never filled one of these out. I usually throw them out because I don't care. However being as Joe was one of the best teachers I have ever had, I feel as though it is my obligation to let him and the school know. Often the test questions didn't focus on the things we focused on in class. I studied hard but didn't do well. Good class, frustrating test.

The class was taught by a competent and intelligent teacher who had great knowledge of the subject. The computer quizzes were very helpful and I think they should continue. It would be nice to have a class time before a test for review and questions.

Mr. Escobar was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about history. I feel that Escobar should become more involved with the students. And make tests a little bit shorter. But long enough to last a whole class period, not any longer.

My favorite part of the class was the way the instructor felt about the subject matter. The instructor enjoyed it therefore so did I. My preference is for lectures to be focused. At times I felt the instructor rushed through material in order to get to everything. Unfortunately the influx of the vast amount of information presented in lecture left me confused and unable to build a cohesive picture. I also feel that tests were unfair and too long. I dislike being tested on detailed material when the material may have only received a second of time in the lecture.
