Readings and assignment load were manageable and enlightening.
He makes you think of all different perspectives, the "gray" area.	It couldn't, he's the best history teacher I've had at Lane.
I enjoyed the teachers enthusiasm of the subject.  He was fun to listen to.	Less reading.
Joe was very knowledgeable about the subject.  He always had answers to questions and gave me a pretty good idea of what really happened in history.	I don't think the class could be improved much.  I think the tests were a little tough, but hey, that's life.
It was interesting... the history videos were not boring like they could have been.	x
The use of different methods in teaching the material.
It was interesting, and he was very knowledgeable.	More class work to better understand the material.

I'm a history major and I've learned stuff I have never heard about before.	Make some class time for a review of tests.  Very good instructor, looking forward to next term.
Interesting, he was pretty available.	Should just ask the class if they have "any questions," for interaction !
I liked it cuz the teacher was available when you needed him.	The teacher could just interact with students more.  I thought the class was boring and I didn't learn much.  This class was a disappointment compared to other history classes I've taken.
This class was very informative.	This class could be improved by not so much lecture.  The instructor was very knowledgeable.  Good teacher !
It was thorough, covered material well.	Can't really think of anything.

The integration of films and current issues.
It covered alot of material.	NA
The teacher is fair and reasonable in his treatment of different political, ethnic, and religious beliefs.  I appreciate that.
Everything.	Don't change anything.
Film clips and aside information.	Supplementary book to read besides text packet.
Encapsulated most important events from 1850-1900.	More handouts.
The explanation of statistics, the use fo sources other than the book, the comparrison of morals today and then.
Energy of the teacher, class went by fast.	I didn't understand fully what you wanted on the PSD.
It was great - It was like watching a narrative video on history.	Does not need improvement!
Efficient and informative.  Not too "heady".  Mr. Escobar made it almost difficult to fail.

Used visual aids - overheads and video clips	I felt he very much used history to bash on Christianity.  As a Christian, I will not take a course with him again.
Escobar loves the topic!  He is very enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable!	Escobar cracks me up!  He acted out the Caning of Sumner in front of the class for crying out loud!  I learned alot ! It was a good experience !
Everything
There was some comic relief.	A little more up beat, more than lectures.
I liked it as much as I think was possible.
Sitting through 80 minutes of lecture felt like 40 minutes of lecture.  Escobar used television, personal accounts, etc. to keep the lecturing fresh, interesting.	Doesn't need improvement.
We did not have to memorize dates.  The instructor kept the material interesting.	He was great.
The instructor was very good about criticizing, clarifying, and adding to the information in the textbook.  He also related historical events to current events which is helpful.	I think finding a new video series withou the scrunchy-faced old guy in the beige trenchcoat would be beneficial.  That guy either can't read a cue card or he doesn't understand how to use punctuation in his speech.  Hard to glean much from him with that kind of distraction.
The interesting truths that are hidden about U.S. Hist.	Maby some extra credit potentias as the test them selves are a huge portion of the grade.
Joe is very enthusiastic and makes an effort to get to know each student.	Better movie quality - sound was annoying at times!
Everything!  The class was informative, interesting, and fun!	More detailed look at the Wizard of Oz metaphor!
