Got a lot of info about this subject.  Got effective materials to help understand.	We can write a paper about out opinions.
The was the instructor presented material, made material understandable.
I liked having the information presented in context with the events.	Maybe having more assignments through the term so that a student has more of a point of reference to work from.

The instructor's enthusiasm and obvious knowledge of the subject.  I found it helpful and less stressed to be assigned additional work instead of relying entirely on two tests for the bulk of my grade.
I enjoyed learning again how the nation went through the time period.	Nothing to add.  It was pretty good overall.

I enjoyed this class because I felt I learned alot.  Joe is a great teacher that explains ideas, facts, and history in a structured way.  His outlines on the board make it easy to reflect back on your notes and remember key points about the chapters and class discussions.

What did you like about the class?	How could this class be improved? Add any comments about the class and/or the instructor that you feel might he helpful or useful.
	I would like to see the instructor increase his amount of tests to at least three tests.  There is alot of info covered in this class.  Three tests would give students a better opportunity to succeed on the test with only 3-4 chapters to study at one time versus 5 chapters.
It was a factual, concise course that avoided the all too typical American favoritism show.  Portrayed a true image of the era's history.	The only change I'd like to see is an additional way to earn points for those who struggle with tests.  Be it extra credit, droppable grade(s), or some other method to not so heavily weight the tests.
I liked the teaching method of lecture and video to teach about the historical events we were studying and I appreciated not being asked to tie up my grade with other students (like in group projects).	The class could be improved by offering printed quizzes instead of being required to do them over the internet.  This is unfair to students that work and do not have time to find a computer to use or go out of their way, when other students have an inherent advantage of having a computer in their home.
I liked this class alot.  I thought it was well taught.  I thought the tests were very fair.	I don't have any.
The extra information makes it more interesting.  The instructor is very knowledgeable about the subject.	It is very important to come to class every time, and do the reading and computer quizzes.
The subject, the variety of visual aids, the deep knowledge of Joe.	More class time to absorb all the info Joe has to share!
It was informative and made easy to learn the material.	I think it is good the way it is and does not need to be improved.

I feel that Mr. Escobar is the most professional instructor that I have had at LCC.  His use of class time and presentation of material for the course is above and beyond most instructors.  I plan on taking every one of his history classes that I can fit in my schedule.  He is also very open to meetings and having a personal interaction with his students.   Great class !!
I liked the no homework issue of last term.  Don't listen to these whiners.
The class was fun and interesting and Joe was a great teacher.	It could have been longer.  It also was pretty intense and difficult, more than I thought it would be.
I learned new things and the teacher seemed to have lots of knowledge.	There shold be more work assigned (homework) cause there are students who aren't good test takers and it would help even out the grade.
The organization of the course and knowing what my grade should be.	Improved - a more upbeat atmosphere and conversing with the class more.
Through the course of my first year at Lane, I have found Joe to be the most helpful, enthusiastic teacher I have.  He understands the material thoroughly and presents it well.  He is organized and structured, which is important to me in a teacher.  I also like the computer quizzes.  They helped keep me on my toes.
I lived his enthusiasm in the subjects he teaches.  It's hard not to enjoy what you are learning	I think we need more tests.  I found it hard to stick with the reading with only a final and midterm.
By far the best instructor I've had at LCC.
I didn't know much about history.  So much of it was new and interesting. I thought the teacher did a good job of presenting info from pictures, films, and lecture.  I liked the quizzes too, because it gave me a chance to reflect on what I've learned and how I could improve.	More homework to be graded.

I found the class to be very interesting.  The instructor did not talk "at" the students but "to" the students.  He asked questions as well as welcomed feedback and he followed up on what he was lecturing with films and visual pictures.  I found this class stimulating and easy to pay attention to.
I liked the course.  I felt that Mr. Escobar knew his material and presented it in a vay that made sense and was relevant to the course.  He made a clear study session before each major test that was extremely helpful.  Although the material was dense, he broke it up and made it hard for the "successful" student to do badly in his class.  He is definitely a teacher I will take again for another history course.  Not boring, but worth my money and time.  Also, I like his use of technology on the internet.  That's very useful in relaying info.
