He made history so interesting. Very good teacher in all aspects. Teaching methods were very effective.	There needs to be less time spent on giving info found in text. The class should deal with stuff outside of the text.
That Joe is so knowledgeable on the subjects presented and helps to understand the past and present linkage.	For sure keep the computer quizzes, they are very helpful.
I think that the way the material was presented was very effective. I learned a lot from Joe's teaching style. Thanks	Make the actual class time longer so more specifics can be addressed.
The computer quizzes, it's easier than having written quizzes all the time.	Go over computer quizzes, which questions most people had right or wrong, because you never know which ones were wrong.
I have taken history classes before. I believe that I have learned more in this class than the others.	I think this class could be improved. Actually not the class, the tests. They are very confusing to me.
That the instructor was knowledgeable and displayed an interest in the subject. Made history interesting to learn.	Daily work to supplement the readings in addition to just the lecture - mid term format.

It was so thorough...I felt he covered the material remarkably well in the time given.	More than 50 min. class...maybe 2 hours? three times a week?
I like his enthusiasm and the way tried to apply history to the present. He was responsible with time.	His tests are difficult. I'd like to see study sessions besides on-line quizzes.
I liked the way you taught and wrote notes on the board and overhead. I thought your lectures and stories were very interesting. I really enjoyed this class.	More flexibility on the computer quizzes. Monday is a tough day to have the quizzes done by, especially if you don't have a computer at home.
It was very detailed.	I thought you did a wonderful job teaching this course.
Mr. Escobar was very knowledgeable and had a real interest in what he was teaching and it showed.	The computer quizzes were not very beneficial as a guide. 75 questions for a test is a lot with no other material to assess yourself as far as how you will do on the test. Maybe some other reviews or written assignments.
I enjoy learning about history and Escobar did a great job at getting the information across. He used every second of time efficiently and always came prepared with different styles of teaching.	Not so early in the morning. Love the computer tests, they held a lot.
The content of the class and enthusiasm and interest of the instructor.	Have more time to cover the content.
I didn't know anything about this time in history so it was fun to learn.	There was very little communication with the instructor during classes. I believe a handful of questions were asked all term.
I enjoyed many of the films showed in class, and the instructor's sense of humor made class a relaxed place.	Make the tests so that the student doesn't have to pick through 3 of 4 answers that are correct.
More interesting than any other history class I've taken. I liked how he tied the past to recent events.	The tests were a little hard, but the computer tests made them easier
The lectures were very good and kept my interest. The practice tests on the computer were very helpful.	I felt like Joe talked against Republicans, Christianity and conservatism a little too strongly. He seemed biased.
I really learned a lot. History is not my subject and this class was interesting.	A new book.
The flexibility of going to any class period during the week so you don't need to miss classes.	Our grade is only based on 3 tests. I think that it was hard to know whether the student knows the material with just 3 multiple choice tests.
Mr. Escobar is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He keeps you interested even when the material is dull.	I feel the class is structured very well.
The information given in the lectures followed the text.	Some students don't learn thoroughly through lecture. Maybe we could have something different some days besides lecture maybe a question answer day, or anything else. Some of the test questions were worded very differently they were hard to understand.
Mr. Escobar scheduled his lectures very well, stayed true to the guidelines in the syllabus. I don't see this happen very often.	Joe is most organized very knowledgeable - maybe slow down just a tad. Otherwise a very enjoyable class. I highly recommend his teaching style
Learning how our country became powerful before and after the depression.	Although this was a survey course, I feel there wasn't enough time to go into everything that was covered.
The subject, the video clips, the fact that it was interesting, the lack of restriction on number of times you can take the computer tests.
The instructors interest in subject.
Joe made it exciting by giving us internet quizzes, which I found to be most helpful.
I really liked the computer quizzes. They are great study tools for tests.

Interesting lectures that were incitefully planned to include a variety of resources that taught and reinforced instructor's assigned readings.	I would have liked some test review during class.
Joe's enthusiasm.	Get away from text use handouts and lecture free the instructor to follow his own course interpreting US history and teaching it.
Source documents, instructor's ability to make history relevant to us today using contemporary examples.	Even though I knew what happened during certain periods of time in our history and even though I studied endless hours it was still nearly impossible for me to get an "A" because many of the questions were on things that might not have been as important as the overall theme of what we should be learning. (Very tricky questions)
The class did an excellent job teaching me about the history of the U.S.	Get a better TV and VCR for documentary videos.
Liked the internet access and instructor enthusiasm.	Joe did his best with a truly wretched book he had no choice about. I would've liked more time for discussions.
I love history so no mystery there. Joe's enthusiasm and knowledge kept me interested, even during the dreaded "Alphabet Acts." Thanks for a great term.	Make this a four credit or even a five credit class and divide it into 2 evening classes so that more information could be taught at a slower speed.
I like the subject and lots of information.	More help comprehending all info.
The instructor was very well prepared and used different types of teaching ie: lecture, video, handouts.	Make it four or five hours long. Turn off the lights in back during videos (I'm serious)
Wars, time, place, instructor	The quizzes in the computer were not like real test as he had said. Too hard and way unfair to have whole grade based just on three tests. Could allow extra credit or homework to even out test problems.
History is an interesting subject, but Mr. Escobar's humor and his interjection of personal stories made class easier.	Less history to study and more focus on specific areas maybe 1900-1920 instead of 1900-1945.
Nothing-disliked Escobar. Very unflexible. Way too fast. Can't catch everything.	Find more easily understood/audible movie clips and footage.
The teacher was easy to understand and very knowledgeable in the course. He has a great sense of humor.	The instructor was somewhat bias in teaching some of his topics.
Time went by quickly. It wasn't any "ordinary" boring history class. Excellent teaching style. Good balance of humor, enthusiasm, and material.	Maybe inform the students more about what is expected to be known on the exams.
The instructor made class interesting, had a lot of energy.	Improve equipment.
I liked the use of videos to better explain the subject.	I think the tests are extremely difficult and I felt very rushed in the one hour to complete tests.
Interesting fast paced - good use of materials (variety) - the quality of equipment not too good.	Add more types of text to obtain different perspectives other than the one author's.
Very interesting for a history course.	Hand out study sheets for tests.

The use of computers, the full story not just book stuff.
The opportunity to see into the past, understanding human thought, emotion and what has shaped this great nation.	I know it is a survey course, but detail sometimes lacked - most of the history seemed tied (in Mr. Escobar's estimation) to be revolving around economic themes (i.e., cash money). I felt that Mr. Escobar often exhibited some degree of personal bias, (which is acceptable usually, we do live in a free country) toward religious members - I was not offended, but he seemed to characterize them in an unflattering light. I felt almost embarrassed by this lack of "celebrating diversity." Otherwise - an excellent course.
