Show haw each of the following was an important step in the development of our democracy: (a) Mayflower Compact, (b) New England town meetings, (c) Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, (d) Maryland Toleration Act of 1649, (e) Zenger trial.
3. The thirteen colonies usually are considered as three groups - (a) New England, (b) Middle, (c) Southern - chiefly because each group had its own distinctive geographic features. For each group of colonies (1) describe two of its distinctive geographic features, and (2) show how these features influenced the way its colonists earned a living.
4. In the two decades before the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War, a profound shift occurred in the way many Americans thought and felt about the British government and their colonial governments.
