List of abbreviations

SPNJ - spectrum placement not justified (your writing and your X do not coincide or the location of your X has no support)
NA - not accurate (wrong)
NS - not a sentence
Grammar - grammar problems made the paper difficult to read
RO - run on sentence
SP - spelling mistake
PT - use past tense when writing history
RED - redundant (repeating yourself)
? - what do you mean/needs explanation
AWK - awkward phrasing/poor grammar confuses meaning
PWC - poor word choice
WW - you used the wrong word
/ - letter should be lower case
cliche - don't use this type of spoken, informal language in a scholarly paper
NO HYPO ? - do not ask hypothetical questions in your paper
NO 1 P - do not write in first person
Proof ? - if you make a claim that is not common knowledge, include the reference where you got that information (cite your sources)

Length - paper too brief to analyze the subject well
Narrative - your paper is simply retelling information, like a story, rather than analyzing the material

"Cast your bucket down" - he was talking to blacks, not whites

Ida B. Wells - wrote article/magazine/book
She wanted a federal anti-lynching law (ultimate governmental action)

W.E.B. DuBois - national address (NAACP foundation)
referred to upholding/enforcing existing laws (13, 14, 15 Amendments)
