Hello colleagues,

You are receiving this email because you have officially logged into your Easy Website at least once since the end of last term.  Please read on as this email pertains to you specifically.

First, I hope that it comes as no surprise to you that this will be the last term that instructors will use the Easy Website software at Lane.  A number of communications explaining the reasons for this change have been sent out to all instructors since December 2006, so I will omit those from this message.

Second, you will still "own" your teach.lanecc.edu/last_name_first_initial web address, which means you still have an actual website.  How you plan to create and update that website will be the big decision you will have to make.

Third, your Faculty Webmasters are strongly encouraging you to use Moodle for your students and classes.  Moodle has the same capabilities that your Easy Website does, and more importantly, it is the only truly supported option for faculty at Lane.

In short, most instructor websites are becoming generic, single page websites that "point" to Moodle.  Take a look at mine.

So, while we are happy to speak with you about your web-related needs for your courses, we need to get an answer from you at this time.  Here are your three (3) choices.

#1
"Yes, please make that example my homepage RIGHT NOW" (and delete my Easy Website NOW)

#2
"Yes, please make that example my homepage AT THE END of Spring Term" (Friday, June 20, one week after final exam week)

#3
"No, just remove all of my EWS-related pages at the end of Spring Term" (I will use SFTP and HTML software to code my own webpages)

At the risk of sounding heavy-handed, if we do not receive a reply from you by June 20, option #3 will be considered your choice, by default.
