(As a matter of fact, you are in the top 7 of all faculty with an Easy Website.) So with great respect and a true concern for what you've done for your students in the past, your faculty webmasters are offering a customized plan to meet your needs. You will NOT have to make time to go to a generic workshop. We will come to you, on your time, in your office. We will listen carefully to your specific needs and offer solutions. We will will reveal all of the pros and cons of each idea. And we will personally train you, one-on-one, how to use the new technology. We want you to be successful. After all, we too are instructors with classes and students and want solutions that work. We have the knowledge and experience to give you what you need. So with great respect and a true concern for what you've done for your students in the past, your faculty webmasters are offering a customized plan to help meet your needs for this upcoming change. Here are your options: #1 You are encouraged to use Moodle in place of your Easy Website. This option allows you to do everything you used to do in your Easy Website after learning how to use the new web-based software. #2 You may create your own webpages by writing html code or using some other web page program, such as WebMonkey. This option is limited only by your ability level to learn html or use another software program and a secure FTP software program such as CoreFTP or Cyberduck. #3 You may use some other free web services, such as the blog software WordPress, to re-create your website. There are limitations to any free web service, and they may or may not offer you what you could originally do in your Easy Website. We want you to be successful. After all, we too are instructors with classes and students and want solutions that work. We have the knowledge and experience to give you what you need. Yes, Moodle is a solution for a large number of faculty needs, but it is by no means the only solution we have to offer you. However, we are so confident in the ease of transition to Moodle that many of you may make the change before or during the Spring 2008 term. We will offer a number of drop-in sessions in the ITC 19/245 this week and next, and during the first two weeks of Spring Term. The goal of these sessions will be to show you how to do in Moodle what you have done in your easy websites, such as change text, post handouts, and even posting grades from Excel. Although there are availability limitations, we can also come to you, on your time, in your office. We will listen carefully to your specific needs and offer solutions. And we will personally train you, one-on-one, how to use the new technology. Finally, by making a simple request to FWM@lanecc.edu, we will re-create your Easy Website in Moodle for you. It will need fine tuning by you, of course, and you will still need to learn how to use the software. But we have already done this for a number of Easy Website users this term, and the success rate has been extraordinary. Please take advantage of these offers. Questions?
