     INTRODUCTION
----------------------

Add phpMyAdmin Link was my very first modification, and as might be expected of
such, it's a very small and simple piece of work. It will add a link to the
installation of phpMyAdmin (or anything else you want) to the phpBB Administration
Panel under the "Preview Forum" link and next to "Go to Administration Panel" in
page footers.

     CHANGELOG
-------------------

Version 2.0.0 - Jul 01, 2003 3:30 am Eastern Time
I honestly thought I would never update this, because it was really simple and
straightforward. I've decided to update it to be more in keeping with the way
phpBB is coded, though, and to add the link to page footers. Although this does
increase the complexity of the changes exponentially, they are still very simple.

Version 1.0.0
First release.

     INSTALL, UPGRADE, OR UNINSTALL
----------------------------------------

If you've never used a MOD before and don't know how to install them, I've written a
guide that may be of help to you. You can find this guide at:
http://darkmods.sourceforge.net/mods/howto.php
There is also a very good guide in the phpBBHacks.com tutorial forum.

To install or upgrade, follow these steps:
1) Unzip the ZIP file, which will have a name similar to add_phpmyadmin-200.zip.
This should create a directory, containing the indicated items:
      readme.txt - This file.
gpl.txt - GNU General Public License.
install.txt - Instructions for modifying pre-existing phpBB files.
      add_phpmyadmin.hl - Auto insert file for Nivisec's Mods/Hacks List.
2) The file install.txt details changes that are needed in original phpBB files.
The "Files to Edit" list near the top of that file lists all of phpBB files you
will need to edit. Make the changes to phpBB files as detailed in install.txt
   and copy/upload the changed files.

Before making changes to any file, create a backup copy of it (so that you can
restore easily restore it in case of errors).

To uninstall, follow these steps:
1) Unzip the ZIP file, which will have a name similar to add_phpmyadmin-200.zip.
This should create a directory with some files as listed in Installation Step #1.
2) The file install.txt details changes that are needed in original phpBB files.
Make these changes in reverse. For example, if there is a FIND action followed
by a REPLACE WITH action, find the REPLACE WITH code and replace it with the FIND
code. For any BEFORE, ADD or AFTER, ADD actions, delete the code that was added.

     FURTHER CUSTOMIZATION
-------------------------------

You know, you could really use this modification to add a link to *anything* - it
doesn't have to be phpMyAdmin.
