Hello Faculty using WebCT for Winter Term 2005, 

This is a quick, but extremely important checklist for next term.

I would like to think that you've all filled out this form for your classes next term.  The original request was sent 3-4 weeks ago.  If you plan to offer any WebCT course next term, complete this form immediately.

Once your new class has been created and exists under the Winter Term 2005 category, PLEASE create and/or change your class information page (under the "i" icon).  At least, tell your students the information under #3 (next point).

The Banner-to-WebCT registration process for next term has been changed.  Students will login with their L# as login name and password, NOT their last name and first two initials.  Students will only be able to login to their WebCT classes on the first day of the term, no earlier.  Also, students will NOT be receiving any email from the college about how to login.  They need to get all of this information from you in your welcome/information web page (#2 above).

Once students login, they will then be prompted to change their password.  Faculty are responsible for resetting their students' forgotten passwords.  The Distance Learning department does not have the resources to do this and the faculty webmaster's job is to help instructors, not LCC's 3000 individual WebCT students.

ALL EXISTING STUDENT WEBCT ACCOUNTS FROM FALL TERM 2004 (and before) WILL BE DELETED the week before the new term begins.  If you have students with incompletes or makeups, be sure to save appropriate data, assignments, and information.  (Faculty have always had the ability to make personal backup files of their WebCT courses.)
