Education Budget Cuts - Override the Governor's Veto
We have received word that the our legislators would like to hear from community members about SB1022, which was vetoed by our Governor. If sustained, this veto would result in approximately a 25% immediate loss in state funding for community colleges, or approximately $8 million from Lane's budget. An override by the Legislature would greatly help community colleges. At this time, they have not received feedback from our community and they would really like to know who supports this override and why.
The Governmental Relations Action Team encourages you to e-mail the following Legislators, who represent our service district. The Legislature will meet on August 16 and they would like to receive all the information needed to make the right decision. They are:
