The exam module is designed as a convenient repository of offline
exam and quiz grades within Moodle. Some of its features include:

1) Quick manual entry of such grades using input text boxes
2) Both a numerical grade and text comment may be entered
3) Bulk upload of grades and comments from a csv file with each
   line having the following format:
student username, numerical grade, text comment
Line termination in the file can be in any of Unix/Linux,
   DOS/Windows, or Macintosh format
4) Optional bounds checking, both server side and client side
   (via Javascript)
5) Display of grades may be limited to a subsection assigned
to a given teacher. Subsections are specified by a data
file named according to the teacher's username, with the
file containing the corresponding student usernames (one
   per line)

The homework module is designed similarly as a repository of
offline homework grades. It is functionally equivalent to the
exam module and the implementation code just refers to the
corresponding exam module code.

These modules should run under both under Moodle 1.4.5 and
Moodle 1.5.

To activate these modules, copy the exam and homework subfolders
of the mod folder here into the mod folder of your Moodle
installation. [You may omit the homework folder and only copy
the exam folder, if you like. However it won't work the other
way around: the homework module depends on the exam module.]

You also need to copy the language files from the lang/en folder
here into the lang/en folder of your Moodle installation.

These modules are still in early development. Do NOT install on
production sites.
