Easy Website for Instructors

The Easy Website (EWS) is an exciting and very easy to use website, custom made for instructors who want a web presence quickly, who don't want to spend a lot of time learning too many technical details, and who want the freedom to develop their site at their own pace. If you can surf the web, click on form buttons, and have your syllabus, handouts, or other materials in electronic form (Microsoft Word), but still do not have your own Website at LCC, this session is for you.

Your Faculty Webmasters are here to help interested LCC faculty make effective use of the web and related technologies as part of the teaching-learning process. Within this role, we are prepared to work as information resources, facilitators, consultants, advocates, troubleshooters, liaisons, advisers, and leaders.

The “teach.lanecc.edu” server is an internet web server provided for Lane faculty to use for the benefit of their students.

Did you know that of the 347 staff accounts currently on this server,

237, a whopping 68% are Easy Websites. It MUST be “easy” !

Software Requirements to EDIT your Easy Website:

Windows: Internet Explorer, Firefox (http://getfirefox.com), Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org)

Mac: Firefox, Mozilla (sorry, no Safari)

Software Requirements to VIEW your Easy Website:

Windows, Mac, Linux: ANY web browser can be used to “see” your Easy Website.

What should I use, Easy Website or Moodle?

Both software systems are completely web-based. Hybrid and online course instructors should use Moodle. Traditional course instructors can choose between the two.
