Frequently Asked Questions
It is reported that the career services offered at schools and networking are the two best ways to obtain job leads. In addition, the job seeker should use as many methods as possible, including career fairs, newspaper ads, visits to health facilities, telephone job lines, and the Internet.
Start by seeing your resume as a sales tool. Think about all you have to offer an employer and ways to best present this information. Then choose the type of resume that best fits your situation. Finally, make sure that everything is perfect, including the dates you provide, your grammar and spelling, and the print quality.
Perform a personal inventory and look for skills that are related to those required on the job. Strive to do your best at your clinical site(s), because a good evaluation from the supervisor can be valuable. Look for transferable skills from other jobs you have held in the past.
A cover letter shows that you took the time to do more than simply put a resume in the mail. It can also be used to briefly highlight something that sets you apart from other applicants. Perhaps most importantly, it gives you an opportunity to point out how you fit the specific job being advertised.
It is really important that you can be contacted by a potential employer, so find someone reliable who has good telephone manners and is willing to take messages for you.
