What is a hybrid course at Lane Community College? Hybrid courses are courses in which a significant portion of the learning activities have been moved online, and time traditionally spent in the classroom is reduced but not eliminated. Some course lecture or lab content is moved onto the web in the form of online learning activities, such as case studies, tutorials, self-testing exercises, simulations, and online group collaborations. For example, a traditional 3 credit course meets for one hour on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. That same course offered as a hybrid class might meet for one hour on Monday and Wednesday throughout the term. Instead of meeting on Fridays, students would be required to interact with their instructor and other students and complete coursework entirely online.
