Hello Instructors,

Thanks to one of your colleagues who posted a question to the Moodle Course for Instructors (I hope you are enrolled.. how to link included at the end of this email), we have discovered a behavior, not a glitch, in Moodle testing that is probably NOT what most of you desire.

In short, when you make a test secure in Moodle, by using the IP or password restrictions, that works only when the student TAKES the test.  After that, the test can be reviewed by the student from ANY computer, including a home computer connected to a printer.

This is not how TestPilot worked, which required that students re-visit the secure testing lab in CEN456 to review a test.

Since this is probably not what any of you expected, here is a potential solution for you.

If you go back to your update page, where you set the test deadline dates/times, click ONLY the checkboxes under SHOW SCORES.  Uncheck the rest.  This will effectively stop students from seeing your exams after they have been taken.

Of course, students will only be able to review their exams if they come to your office, as you the instructor will continue to have access to their full tests, answers, etc.

Please make any desired changes as soon as possible to protect the security of your tests.
