The goal of this assignment is to link the readings on socialization with your own socialiation process, in order to understand each better and to further develop your "sociological imagination." After doing the assigned readings, then:

1a. Pick some aspect of yourself (e.g. gender, class, etc.), and explain how you came to develop that "self" as a product of socialization. Be sure to identify the specific agents of socialization, and how they functioned to produce this result. Be specific, and try to link your analysis directly to the readings. Also, be sure to discuss how you reacted to the socialization.

2. Submit your homework by 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18th to the appropriate answer boxes at: http://test.lanecc.edu/saltj/204oSectionF.tp3 (will be available by noon, Tuesday, Nov. 13th).

3. Post your answers to the Section F Conference on the course WebBoard (http://slint.lanecc.edu:8080/~saltj) so that students in the course can see what other students did and what insights they gained into the socialization process.
