Host Master Settings
Board Server Name: Enter a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). The Board Server Name is used in constructing the URL and email address shown on email messages sent from the board and the links on the List Boards page (boardlist.html). To use the Board Server Name in a URL to reach this board without also using a Board Alias, you must enter the Board Server Name in the Board Addresses field below. The Board Server Name must be unique across all boards if it is also used as a Board Address. For example, enter my.board.com. You are limited to 255 characters. Required field Board Alias: Enter a unique alias for this board. The Board Alias can be used in a URL with the Board Server Name to reach this board. For example, enter cooking. The URL would appear as http://my.board.com/~cooking. You are limited to 50 characters. HTML and WebBoard tags are not allowed. Required field
Board Addresses: Enter one or more unique hostnames (FQDNs), separated by commas, that can be used to reach this board. You should include the Board Server Name. For example, enter my.board.com, alternate.board.com. If this field is left blank, the Board Alias must be used with the Board Server Name to reach this board. You are limited to 255 characters.

General

Name: Enter a name for this board, for example, "Cooking Board". The name is displayed on the welcome page (intro.html), in the email welcome message (welcome.txt), and by the <wb-boardname> tag. You are limited to 50 characters. HTML and WebBoard tags are not allowed. Required field Email Address: Enter the name and/or email address of the Manager(s) for this board. You are limited to 100 characters. HTML and WebBoard tags are not allowed. Logoff URL: Enter a URL for the LOGOFF button on the menubar. This URL is used to allow the user to log off the board and return to the web site which pointed him/her there. It can also be used by the <wb-boardlogoff> tag. Chat

WebBoard offers real-time chat. If enabled then conferences in this board can be associated with a real-time chat room. Choose a chat mode: No chat No chat will be allowed in conferences on this board. Allow Chat Real-time chat using Java or HTML (based on the users browser). JavaScript-based (WebBoard Internal Chat) This is the HTML/HTTP-based chat which has been available since WebBoard 2.0. It is meant for low-volume chat (under 50 user) and offers a friendly browser-based form of real-time chat. Allow paging Specify whether or not this board should allow user-to-user paging. Turning this option off will remove the PAGE button from the menubar and remove any other references to paging. Paging is ignored if you choose the Authentication mode of "None".

Authentication

Choose a type of authentication for this board. Cookie authentication is supported by most web browsers. During login, a web page prompts the user for a name and password. Basic authentication is supported by most web browsers. During login, a window prompts the user for a name and password. None specifies that the board have no authentication at all. Users will never be asked for a name or password. When posting a message, users will be required to enter their name and email address. User listings, user profiles, top 10 lists, and other user-based features will be disabled.

Security

Specify whether or not this board is closed (private). If it is a closed board new users will not be able to login. You will have to use the "Add Users" Wizard to add users. Closed board Select whether you want users to be shown by their real name, or by their login name. Most commercial on-line services show only the user's login name for confidentiality, however it may be more friendly for your system to show user's real names. Real names Login names Specify whether or not this board should perform email address verification. If checked, new users are emailed a temporary password and will not be able to login until they receive it. Also, users will not be permitted to edit their own email addresses via "Edit Your Profile". Use email address verification

Email Notifications

From: Specify how the sender of the emails should appear. Valid WebBoard tags that can be used are <confname> to display the name of the conference, and <boardname> to display the name of the board. Subject: Specify how the subject of the emails should appear.
