To run as a service under Windows 95, start the WebBoard server and the WebBoard SMTP server from the WebBoard Start menu folder. WebBoard is now running as a service.

To run as a service under Windows NT, you must complete some additional steps after specifying the run mode on WebBoard Properties.

Note If you are running WebBoard on more than one system (redundancy), there are some additional issues relating to shared files and the account WebBoard is running under. A Local System account has no rights across a network and won’t have access to shared directories, such as the WebBoard confs directory, on a remote system. Run WebBoard under a user account, not under a Local System account.

To set up WebBoard as a service under NT:

1. From the Windows NT Control Panel, open Services.
2. Scroll through the listed services until you come to the WebBoard entries.
3. Highlight WebBoard Conference Server and click Start. Services starts the WebBoard server.
4. Highlight WebBoard Mail Server and click Start. Services starts the WebBoard SMTP mail server.
5. Click OK to save changes.
6. Restart WebBoard for changes to take affect.
