Keeping an Address Book
WebBoard provides the tools for alerting specific users to messages you post. Your personalized address book is available to you when you post a message on a board that allows Attention messages (not all boards have this feature). If you haven’t added any names to your address book, you won’t be able to use the Attention Messages feature.
You can use your address book on all boards you visit on the same WebBoard site. If you add a user to your address book on one board and go to another board, if that user is a member of the other board, the user appears in your book. Users only appear in your address book on boards they are members of, that is, boards they have logged into.
To enter names in your address book:
- Click More on the WebBoard menubar. The More Options menu opens.
Click Address Book. The Address Book form opens with an area for searching for users to add to your book and a list of the users currently in your book.
- Search for the users you want to add to your book as described earlier in “Searching for Users.” If there aren’t too many users, you may want to list all users.
- In the list of users returned by the search, check Addr. Book next to each user you want to add.
- Click Update in the Address Book area. The names you checked are added to your address book. If the list of users you displayed goes to a second page (that is, it has a Next 25 link at the bottom of the list), you must click Update on each page to enter the checked users in your address book.
To remove names from your address book:
- Click More on the WebBoard menubar. The More Options menu opens.
- Click Address Book. The Address Book form opens with an area for searching for users to add to your book and a list of the users currently in your book.
- Remove the check in the Addr. Book field next to the names you want to remove.
- Click Update in the Address Book area. The names you unchecked are removed from your address book.
