Virtue Ethics
Virtue Ethics: Defines morality in terms of the ideal or good person, as opposed the right or wrong individual acts.
Instead focus on whether or nit someone has a good character:
-Honest
-Genuine

-The Christian church says that pride is a vice

Waste your time helping people; you will never do anything worthwhile.
Pride is a good thing, play up what you did (if it’s good) “Pride is a Virtue”

Q: Are virtues going to be the same for everyone?
A: Aristotle says, “ Yes, because they are rooted by nature.”

Ethics is based on human nature.
Teleological theory: a theory based on purpose or function.
A hammer’s function: to drive nails
A good hammer’s qualities:
-Grip
-Balance
-Made Well
