I don't think Himmler was psychotic either. i'd say another word for his condition could be product of his environment. From what i could gather from the essay it seems as though Germany was a pretty cold place to live after WW1, it doesn't sound like much good was happening in the country. i'm sure as a young child growing up around so much hate and anger only teaches more hate and anger. not only was himmler learning these things from his parents, but it also seems to be what was going on outside of the home. if all you know is hate and anger, how can one be expected to produce good things? i'm not surprised that himmler turned out the way he did, i'm not really surprised that germany as a whole ended up the way it did.
