He is very much a product of his rigid and
harsh upbringing. Also being the younger
child he wanted to stand out and do big
things. A study I read about younger
siblings said that they are much more
likely to be famous because they all
during childhood feel overshadowed by
their sibling and this drive for attention
and recognition carries over into their adult
life. Many of the prominent figures of our
time and history were younger siblings.
Had he have not had this drive he may not
have been inclined to climb the ranks of
the army.

I think that the controlling environment his
father created like, lance said, made him
the perfect candidate for being a Nazi. I
don't think that he himself was psychotic
but more of a puppet of circumstances
and government.
