drastically changed, as has much
Western civilization, over the years. They
are still changing today. I think I was
trying to point out the similarities, in
Griffins mind, of Gebhard's treatment of
Heinrich and the other children he dealt
with as a schoolmaster under the
instruction of Dr. Schreber, and the way
her grandmother treated her and her
mother.

I guess it is a round about psychological
look at histories shaping.
