Krishna's advice to Arjuna:
1)Keep in mind dharma-your duty w/ respect to caste, social repercussions-as a soldier, it is his duty to fight.
2)Death is not an evil, for everyone dies eventually. Only the body dies, the soul is eternal.
3)Act with detachment and your suffering will be minimal-detachment can mean freedom from the bonds of desire (karma-"law of action" detached action brings one closer to separation from this world.

Goal of Hinduism: Moksha-(Liberation from samsara, or "wheel of reincarnation")

3 ways to salvation:
1)Karma
2)Bkakti
3)Jnana Yogas

In Bhakti-
Even women can be saved through devotion to Krishna. Krishna also states that those who worship other gods are only worshipping him, and that there is only one god(himself) who appears in many guises.

Depictions of God:
-Glorious -Non-human, celestial
-Multi-faceted -Vast, beyond time

3 Gunas:
1)Sattva-Light--Spiritual enlightenment (opposite of tamas)
2)Raja-Fire--Passion and desire
3)Tamas-Darkness--Ignorance, lethargy

The Triad:
1)Brahma-Creator
2)Vishnu-Preserver
3)Shiva-Destroyer
