These are both horror novels, meant to inspire
fear. Frankenstein is the only one which tells a
plausible scientific story, but it was written by a
moralist who was trying to convey the idea that
there are some things in which science shouldn't
meddle.

A person's brain does not fill up over a lifetime, it
just doesn't process data as effeciently.
Assumedly, in the future we'll be able to fix this by
rejuvenating existing brain tissue or grafting in
new tissue grown in a laboratory or cybernetic
processors. Scientists have already created
cybernetic implants creating artificial vision for the
blind, as describe in this recent edition of Wired
magazine:

It's only a matter of time until we'll be able to
integrate information processing as well.

Some would see this as an adventure, an
opportunity to explore a new world, meet new
people, make new friends and have new
