I'm taking this class in combination with a logic class and it is very interesting to see the tools of logic applied to these arguments. At first it seems like the Paley argument is a good one until you apply a refuting analogy to it.
and the second argument doesn't even really seem to be a argument for the existence of god.. If random acts can create such complex organisms why would one conclude that god had to create the process of evolution.
I would have to think if there really is a god then he must not be omnipotent because it seems you can only learn so many lessons from painful experiences. Maybe that is just my western up bringing clouding the possibilities.. I think it's a interesting idea that we invented good and evil and that it is possible that god doesn't possess these qualities because he is beyond them.

I once talked to a friend of mine that is very religious about her beliefs . she told me that everyone in the world that wasn't her religion was going to hell.. that seemed very hard for me to swallow that if there is a god that a being could be so advanced and yet so narrow minded to send the majority of the worlds population to damnation for their beliefs or lack of them. What about all the other religions and there followers that follow it to a T.. are they to to go to her gods hell .. or is there several heavens and hells.. I just thought of this conversation recently because my uncle who is also a very religious man made the same inference.
Does anyone have any light to shed on this for me. I'm open to input.
