A prime example would be those who take this belief to the extreme and simply "pray" to heal their sick family members or children. There are religious cults in the world who will refuse medical treatment simply believing in a God that will heal them.

Believing in God is a wonderful thing but there comes a point when you have to act - take things into your own hands.

This comes from my weekly frustration at work where the surgeon I work for is having a difficult time wanting to do surgery on a patient who is a Jehovah's witness and has refused blood transfusions even if it will save her life. It is a risk (according to him) for a surgeon to do surgery knowing that he will literally have to watch the patient die if there are any complications. Her belief won't save her, praying won't save her....some type of action will need to happen. Sorry..venting about work doesn't make it easier but it helps!
