It seems like these 3 Theodicies fall short of solving the problem of evil. Free Will T - Why does giving humans free will necessarily imply they will do evil? Could you not have free will to choose chicken, steak or fish for dinner without using that will for evil? Spiritual Development T - Suffering builds character?? Wow. How about developing courage through a will to live or experience or overcome an obstacle? How about seeing temptation as a curiosity to try something new? Without that quality humans would be stagnant. Human Ignorance T - Well one true thing is that humans have not yet been able to understand the ways of God, and belief is all we have. So then, being ignorant, should we not try to obtain the information we need in order to make better decisions. I don't see what this really has to do with evil. (too "sit down and shut up"/"because I said so" for me!)
