I've been thinking about this, actually I've been giving cryonics in general a great deal of thought. There are a lot of hidden costs involved with the entire process, not just the freezing and upkeep of the body (though I prefer to still refer to them as corpses).

Imagine you're tried, executed, then frozen. New evidence emerges, and you're then thawed out and released. Imagine that it's a full century later, though: all of your friends are dead, your previous profession is now done by robots, you're out of your element and even the most basic life functions are performed quite differently thanks to modern technology. Who's going to pay for your reeducation? How far back to you have to be placed, anyway? High school level?

Or could you even stand the thought that you've outlived the society you grew up in and are now terribly alone and outdated? To be honest, unless some sort of special attention was paid to my situation, I would likely be a suicide. Were I a convicted felon, innocent or not, and had to face either death or a new life a hundred years out of date, I'd probably rather die.
