In reading the handouts, it seems that there is some discussion as to whether or not God exists. Each philosopher offered a different way of actually defining existence but as the handouts point out, existence is not a property. So, are we really discussing whether God exists or not?

If God exists then in whose reality does he exist? I could state that God exists in my reality because he has proven himself as such by saving me from a brush with death. So to me that proves that God exists at least within my realm.

Which then leads me to think that God's "existence" could be defined differently by every person because each person has a different definition of reality and existence in their mind.

Palmer discussed the Paradox of the Stone which seemed to be very straightforward in proving the point that God is not omnipotent making God's existence logically impossible.

Right after my logical side of my brain accepts that and starts to really digest that fact then the emotional side halts because I've felt God's presence. You can't deny that angelic feeling when (as a woman) you give birth to your child who is blue from lack of oxygen and he takes his first breath or the feeling you get as you are being baptized in blessed water. There is something there, something special and something sacred that can't be defined as "existing".
