Hello there! I would never want to believe that bad things happen to teach us or to get back to us. My worst experiences were when my daughter was born post term and spent 93 days in the hospital and I spent 10. Not only did I firmly take care of the two of us, I was prepared more for her than my two daughters born before her, and we were ready, a home, sound marriage and family and good beliefs. When things went wrong, it took a long time to believe I wasn't at fault and God wasn't blaming me or teaching me a lesson. I hung on to that belief, and thank goodness, because in 1991, I lost my husband, again my marriage was very strong, we were involved in doing for others and our community etc. Did I do something wrong? I think not. Too follow his death was 15 more within 15 month in my family. Do I believe God was teaching me a lesson? No! I did become stronger, and worked harder, but I wasn't at fault, nor did I believe God was teaching me a lesson. I think there is a plan for us, and when one door closes a few more open. I also believe that we have to be strong enough to make a choice about which door to take. I believe in God, but my God. I usually don't discuss my God with you, because I also believe that you will not understand where I am in my beliefs because you haven't lived my experiences nor have you felt my grief. Do I blame God? No. I am content in who I am and know that lifes experiences have made me a stronger person. It's not what I say that shows my beliefs, but the walk I take and what others feel in my encounter and see in my behavior.
Everything we say can be false, but the life we lead is the truth.
