Your last post made me think of what may seem like an inconsistency in my own beliefs that I'd never considered before. I am a huge fan of the Free Will arguments. But I, like you, believe that falling in love is not something we have control over. I'd use the words: fate, destiny, and God's will interchangeably to talk about falling in love. So I'm thinking I'm inclined to agree with you that our "free will" is limited to certain spheres. For instance, we can't decide whether to fall in love but we can decide how to treat the person we love. We can't choose to be confronted with a fire but we can choose whether to put it out. We are free only so far as ourselves go. So perhaps this is not really free since our freedom is always grinding against other people's freedoms and the circumstances of the world we live in. But, interestingly enough, that's kind of how democracy works isn't it?
