I agree with both of you. As I was reading this
chapter I felt that the arguments(for and against
the existence of God) were too cut and dry.
"I think that God does exist but I also think that
this topic can't be broken down into a rational way
of thinking. I think that God is something you feel
in your heart, your soul or your spirit. "
I also believe that God is a feeling in your heart
( that is how I explained it to my four-year old
when she asked, "what is God mommy?") I am
often struck by our culture's attempt to personify
God. It seems to me that to try and personify
God(referring to God as He, or She, creating
pictures of what God might look like, etc.)
trivializes the concept. I don't believe God is a He
or a She, or anything we can completely
understand. Maybe that's why there are so many
organized religious groups, people are trying to
define a concept that cannot be totally defined in
an attempt to understand something we are not
fully prepared to understand.
