Why wouldn't a clone be you? I think that we need to go back to the definition of personal identity is what makes you you. So a clone can't be me because my personal identity makes me me. I know that sounds confusing but I look at it this way.

There are specific things about me that make me - like the fact that when I am really tired, I get the giggles, or the way I scrunch my glasses up on my nose, or the way I can't have just one thought in my mind. These traits make me me and no one else can share them. Even if you cloned me, the clone will get my DNA, my genetic disposition but not my personality, my memories, my experiences.

It's the same thought process that in reincarnation there is no true life after death because when my soul is incarnated into another body, it does not carry with it the memories of my last life or the personality of my last life. My soul may be the same but my identity is lost. Therefore, there is no life after death. Damn, and I spent all these years believing in it! This class made me think way too much and now I am proving what I thought to be correct incorrect.
