I really agree with this concept. It is the times that are not so wonderful that really make us realize how wonderful the good times are. We wouldn't appreciate daylight if there wasn't night. I think 'Nirvana' might get a little dull in the long run. Like a vacation that just drags on too long. Often the times that seem to be the most horrible give us important perspective that we would not have gotten if everything was consistently good. I don't know about anyone else, but I need contrast - the way you appreciate really eating a good meal after being hungry, for example. If you didn't know hunger you wouldn't be able to appreciate fullness in the same way.
