After reading all this interesting literature on reincarnation, let me just say that I believe it exists, but I am hoping I don't have to come around this marry-go-round of life again. I know that sounds a little cynical...

In my study of religions, I understand that there are some cultures that believe the idea of living is to achieve a better status each and every time around, in order to let go of all earthly living and be with the supreme being. Some of those same cultures don't seem to be ashamed that life isn't considered so "precious" or "wonderful" as it is in other practices. In Christianity, I was always taught that life was pricess, you only get one time around, and you better make the best of it. Again I am in the grey area: What if it's both? Does it really depend on what you believe?

A friend of mine once said that "Heaven is what you make of the life you live on earth". If that's true, perhaps it does really depend on what you believe in your heart to be true. I find myself letting go of western beliefs more and more each day, becoming less and less materialistic, and searching for enlightenment.
