I have always been intrigued by the notion of reincarnation. I would like to say I believe in it, but I should say this is a religious belief. The article "A Conceptual Objection", suggests that a soul is actually a carrier for distinct persons, stating "...persons being born who are united by the same spiritual substance". To me this seems like a category mistake. How can persons "share" a substance that each holds as their own personal identity keeper.

The article backs the theory that a soul is merely an empty vessel for individuals, by stating in different persons who are using it can have complete opposite physical and mental characteristics, this makes them different people. However, this argument does not bring up the fact that in changing gender, social status, environmental conditions, the chronological time differences, and perhaps different persons surrounding you, could effect the way one molds their thoughts, and carries out their actions.

My suggestion to this is that in each reincarnation one brings back memories, attitudes, and experiences to a pool of others. Bringing together separate situations, in part, to further "divine" knowledge in whole retrospect.
