I personally believe in an afterlife. However, I can't help but wonder if when we die, if there isn't some sort of brain shutdown that enhances the NDE. I wonder if humans are really able to visit the "afterlife" or if it is merely the process of our body fading away. According to some religions, I didn't think that people were able to see into their own future. I find this topic to be interesting and perplexing at the same time.
..and people that have NDE's seem to have similar experiences and reactions to the NDE. This seems to prove that there may be something out there waiting for us. Or is it something learned and stored in the depths of the brain that is brought out during death in the hope of an afterlife? Only time will tell for each of us...
