Has anyone thought of the population issue? Were cryonics to become the new wave in medicine, and were everyone to become effectively immortal, how would we deal with population? In terms of population; were there one day to be a cure for old age (which I somehow doubt, given the basic principal that things fall apart, and we are no different than any other things), for such a cure to be put into effect would require a much more enlightened populous than we have today. The people would have to agree that they would be the last generation, and no one would be able to have children again. Otherwise, with no attrition, people would over populate the planet in absolutely no time at all, and in doing so would kill off all our food. If such a time were to come to pass it would probably be in the distant future. The question is; why would any enlightened "future man" thaw out a barbarian like you or me for anything other than science experiments, or to be an exhibit in a zoo? Sounds like a great time to me.
