Playing God is a good point considering I work for two surgeons. The joke is that surgeons always have a "god" personality issue because of the role that they play. Yes, it is true, modern medicine has given us quite a few more tools to play with that could translate into playing God.

So, if you were to look who is playing God between a physician and a cyronics person - both are but at least physician's know when to draw the line. A doctor will pronounce a person dead and not choose to try to revive them after certain things have been done. But then in steps the cryonics person who will preserve the person and revive them at a later date.

Who is to say that the person will like the world they are getting "revived" back into? What if we are at war when they are revived? Or what if they have brain damage while being revived and end up worse than when they were preserved?

I think that no one has the right to play God. People have a choice whether they want to undergo the medical treatment the physician is recommending. Just as they have a choice of being preserved. So are people really playing God or a role that has been defined for them? Some surgeons believe that God meant for them to be a physician like a calling from God (similar to becoming a Monk). So, did God define this role of surgeon and cryonics to allow for some other destiny that we aren't aware of yet?
