I am also frustrated with regards to how the class has turned out this term. It really has nothing to do with the instructor, but the continual complications (i.e. board being down, and out other required book not coming in on time). I know that these circumstances have been out of our control, but they do have some upsetting results. Also, a few weeks ago I misplaced my book and never found it. I was told that the Palmer book would be coming in by Friday the 20th of Sept., but it never arrived. I finally had to order my book from Borders and wait the 2-4 weeks to get it. The book didn't arrive until yesterday, and I have an exam to take in two days??? It's insane.
Unfortunately I, as I imagine a few other students have discovered, am really unable to deal with an online class because of the lack of interaction. I am not sure if it has much to do with personal initiative or not. Also, the topic of philosophy has turned out to be completely and utterly boring for me. Personally, I am not a thinker; I am a creator. I don't tend to ask questions about life and why things work the way they do. But it's too late to do anything this far into the term. I guess I am going to have to stick with it. I am not ready for the exam, but I have little choice at this point but to go and take it, and pray for the best.
Just my two cents...and by the way, I am actually glad that this topic was started because it is a good way to vent. Talking with the instuctor is always a good idea, but there is only so much he can do regarding these problems. My only hope is that if the majority of the class does poorly on this first exam, that the next one isn't so complicated. As the saying goes, if one student fails, it's their fault. If the whole class fails...you get the idea.
