I would love to see the scientific experiments that they come up with to either prove or disprove the identity theory. I did find it a disturbing that on page 137 they say that mental images, beliefs, feelings, and desires are "expendable." I don't find my beliefs, feelings, mental images, or desires to be expendable. My desires are usually put on hold, for things found to be more important, but I still don't believe that they are expendable.
