Hello to all... My name is Courtney and I am taking this class to gain a better perspective on Philosophy. I'm 25, work as a Med-Tech and am going to school to become a Physician Assistant. I am originally from the Midwest and east coast areas. I moved to Oregon two years ago to see what life "out west" was like. I have lived in several places and plan to live in several more in order to become more "worldly".

On page 19 of the text, Ontology is defined as the "theory of being" otherwise known as metaphysics. Below the definition, it states "What is the difference between appearance and reality?"
I disagree with the statement that says "philosophy classes take few field trips because there is no place to go......you are already there!" The reason I disagree with this statement is for the simple fact, our minds wander. Our minds wander when we REM sleep, we dream, we go somewhere. Every plane of existence is different. There is only so many places to go, here, in this physical plane. In alternate planes, according to physics and quantum physics, abstractly there are many places for our "minds" to wander. Deja Vu. One of my favorite quotes is this.... "Dreams are Experiences Incurred in Another Plane....Such Lucidity Does Exist". So do we really go anywhere or do we just stay put?
