1. My husband and Socrates - best buds.
My husband definitely could be considered as having a philosophical temperament. After a beer or two, he goes on and on, naturally philosophizing, asking the “big questions. “ He never quite reaches a definite answer, proposing his own theories, they can be quite interesting to listen to. I could see him, in Socrates’ time, hanging out the street corner with him, philosophizing into the long hours of the night. They would be saying, “I’m ignorant.” “No I’m ignorant.”
2. Mythos/Logos:
As I read the material, it seemed to me as if I understood the distinction between the two. But when the author asks if Heraclitus’ sayings that he cited were logos/mythos, was he a pessimist/optimist, I couldn't’t make the distinction. I wanted to know if any of you could share your thoughts or views on these questions, for a better understanding.
