Hello,
what really got my attention in chapter one was Thales' assumption that if there is change, then there must be something behind change that itself does not change. It seems to be a catch-22 and it really goes to show that we're all going in circles. I always need reminders not to take life so seriously so as not to stress out and freak out. I'm a science major so my last reason for not taking life seriously was that we're all just masses of atoms.
