Just a couple of questions about the study guide, I don't understand what the questions are asking.

#5-Explaing the forces that produce resting membrane potential...
----Is this simply diffusion, electrostatic pressure, and the sodium/potassium pump? Isn't the membrane potential starting out resting?, Why is this something that needs to be produced? (only after action potential the Na+ and K+ pumps go into effect not before right?

#8-...and detail their effects on the postsynaptic potential...
----Neurotransmitters either create or inhibit postsynaptic potentials (EPSP's and IPSP's) is that the answer to the second part there or am I missing something bigger?

#11--Where in the book does it discuss the major functions of the lobes of the brain. Or Are we to discuss the major functions of the parts of the brain within each lobe, or will you be going over this in class on tuesday?

#12-We just started talking about the primary/secondary/tertiary cortex and the associations cortex's --will be continuting this discussion on tuesday for clarification or is it in the reading somewhere I haven't found the major functions or further explaination on the differences between each.
