I would advocate pursuing goal/aim #2 as listed by Katie: fostering a higher and broader level of faculty engagement. Just to be clear, I am not interested in taking a "lowest common denominator" approach, but rather am interested in raising the bar campus wide. For this reason, I am in support of Jerry's aim of building a model for Learning Communities to operate in and with the Professional/Technical programs.
